A new project to focus on managing and reducing fuel bills and helping residents stay warm in their homes in Maldon, Chelmsford and Braintree has secured £420,000 of funding. We supported this project in making its bid.

British Gas Energy Trust Healthy Homes Fund has funded the project, called “Healthy Homes; Active Advice".

Councillor David Finch, Leader of Essex County Council said:

“Helping people reduce their fuel bills is essential in not only reducing the amount they pay, but giving them the peace of mind that heating your home is not going to cost you more than you think you can afford. This is where switching to a lower tariff through Energy switch and in collaboration with the installation of energy saving devices we can start to make a real difference in people’s lives.”

The project, led by Citizen Advice Chelmsford, used our support to help to complete the application form.  We worked closely with Chelmsford Citizens Advice, to coordinate the bid development and manage the bidding process.
