Essex County Council have launched the Essex Challenge Prizes, designed to reward ideas that could help tackle social problems in Essex.

For the first challenge prize - Families Included - they're looking for great ideas, projects and solutions from Essex that involve local families with children under 5 in opportunities that enrich their lives and reduce social isolation.

Open until Thursday 14 July 2016, the prize process has several stages. Entrants will be whittled down to 10 finalists who will each receive mentoring and support to develop and test out their ideas. The winner, who will be announced in January 2017, will receive £10,000 to help develop their idea.
